The 2FA Secret Key can be used with the credential connection method to strengthen the connection of your LinkedIn account to HeyReach.
⚠️ Your 2FA secret key is not the code you get from the Authenticator app. It is an activation code you get from LinkedIn once you enable 2FA.
You can follow this video or steps in the article to connect your LinkedIn account to HeyReach via 2FA method
Step 1: Go to Settings& Privacy on your LinkedIn account
The first step is to open LinkedIn. Once there, please click the 'Me' button and open your Settings & Privacy.
Step 2: Navigate to the 'Sign in & Security' section
Select the option named 'Two-Step Verification'. To proceed with the next steps, the option should be turned off.
⚠️If by any chance the Two-Step Verification is 'On', and you have your secret key saved and ready to be used, please proceed to enter it to connect your LinkedIn account.
If you do not have your secret key from before, please turn it off and continue with the steps below to set up a new secret key.
Step 3: Set Up 2FA for your LinkedIn account
Confirm on your other signed-in devices (usually a mobile) that you are trying to set up 2FA.
Alternatively, you might be asked to enter a PIN that you will receive via email.
⚠️ PIN is a 6 digit code sent by LinkedIn. Where you receive the PIN depends on your 2FA settings on LinkedIn.
You can get it in:
• Email Inbox: PINs sent via email are valid for 15 minutes.
• SMS: PINs sent via SMS are valid for 15 minutes.
• Google Authenticator: PINs are valid for 30 seconds.
Select the 'Authenticator App' (SMS is not eligible for HeyReach) as the verification method, and click 'Continue'.
Once done, LinkedIn will ask you to enter a password; please make sure you enter the correct password.
Step 4: Get the 2FA secret key
1. Copy the secret key visible below the QR code - it contains around 20 characters and store it somewhere safe, where you can find it anytime needed.
2. Install Google/ Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device, scan the QR code from there, and click 'Continue'.
Please save your 2FA secret key somewhere safe so that you can use it in the future.
Finally, enter the latest code visible on your Authenticator app and click 'Verify'.
Congratulations, you have enabled Two-Step Verification on your LinkedIn account, and you can enter the 2FA secret key to connect your account. 🎉
