The only thing to keep in mind is the limit on the number of personalized messages you can send with connection requests.
Non-Premium LinkedIn account: Five to ten personalized messages per month, each with a character limit of 200.
Premium LinkedIn account: No limit on the number of personalized messages you can add to the connection requests you send, each with a character limit of 300.
💡 Note: If any of your sending accounts can't send a personalized note, the connection invite will be sent without a note.
Where do I add the Personalized Connection Request Message?
In your campaign, go to Sequence, where you’ll find your setup. If you’ve added the 'Send connection request' action, click on it, and a window will appear on the left.
Here, you’ll see two sections: one for your Initial Message and one for your Fallback Message.
Initial Message: This is your connection request message, which can be personalized using variables like {FIRST_NAME}, so it automatically adds the recipient’s name.
Fallback Message: This serves as a backup in case a variable doesn’t load correctly. For example, if the recipient’s name doesn’t appear in the Initial Message, the Fallback Message will be sent instead.
✨ Advice for you
When using custom variables, please note the character limits (premium: <300, non-premium: <200). To ensure there's enough space for your custom variable, consider writing a shorter message.
🧠 With the Add Message Variation option, you can create different messages for your leads. Later, you can track which message variation performed better based on how many leads replied to it.
🪄 ✨ There is also an option to use a ChatGPT AI Message, and generate a personalized message for each lead, based on their LinkedIn profile.
You can set the tone, add your message goal, decide if you want to include emojis, and click the 'Generate Message Preview' button to see the preview of your message.
💡Tips & Tricks: We’ve seen that empty connection requests (27% avg. acceptance rate) outperform the ones with text (22% avg. acceptance rate), especially if your LinkedIn profiles are well optimized.
